Christmas with The Pavia’s

It’s that time of the year again, that’s right, Christmas is here. Everyone thinks Christmas is the best time of the year because of the presents, but to me, Christmas is so much more than that. The holiday season brings so much color, joy and happiness to everyone’s lives. For a photographer, Christmas allows us to capture all that great stuff we take for granted. Things like Christmas trees, decorations, lights, food, and everything in between.  The holiday’s also give us the opportunity to take great family pictures with everyone dressed in their favorite holiday sweater. Yes, those sweaters we get to wear once a year without being made fun of.  Over the past weekend I got to photograph the Pavia family along with some holiday flare.  They are such a photogenic family that every time I took their picture it made me love my job more.

Happy Holidays to the Pavia Family

Love Struck October

Since I began wedding photography 3 years ago, I have met many unique couples from all walks of life.  Allie and Craig are no exception to that list of wonderful people.  From the moment I met them to discuss their wedding, I knew they would be a blast to work with. For some people, the camera can seem quite intimating, but not for this lovely couple.  They were very playful in front of the lens and were enthusiastic to get some fun shots as engagement shoots are meant to be just that, FUN! If today set the tone for how fun they can be in front of the camera, then I can’t imagine what fun we will have during their wedding day next May.

Fruitopia Begins

Every fall I look forward to many things, town fairs, cool air and apple picking.  Nothing feels like fall then picking your own apples, pears, peaches with the woman you love.  This past Sunday, we had our first pick of the season at Bishop Orchards in Guilford.  They always have a great selection of apples to choose from and we always go over board with what we bring home.  Oh well, you can never have too many apples.

“Mi Familia”

When it comes to family, no one knows how to do it better then the Italians, we coined the phrase  “Mi Familia”.  Today was the 50th Anniversary of one of the most loving couples I have met in my life time.  This particular couple made me feel like family, even though I was their photographer capturing their fun.  Maria and Domenico Cusano are true Italians in every way possible.  Not only did they open up their heart to me, but they also boogied on the dance floor as well.  Weddings are the starting point for couples all over the world.  Being fifty years married to someone may seem like a lifetime to some, but for this couple, it’s a lifetime where every minute mattered.  They are truly blessed to have such a great big family, and when I mean big, I’m talking thirty first cousins big, but hey were “Italinano” and that’s how we live our life.

Today could not be a better day to photograph the gorgeous couple that Paula and Jim make up.  I have known Paula for about a year as she mentored me through my elementary internship.  When she asked me if I could shoot her wedding pictures, I jumped at the chance to capture her radiant glow and share it with my followers and future clients.  Of course I was just happy to be back behind the lens.  Not only did we shoot their formals, they were able to get casual for a little fun.  Paula and Jim prove that no matter what your age, love is an ageless feeling that will last forever.  Congratulations Paula & Jim, may your love for each other carry you through the rest of your lives.

Fall, Apples and Love

If someone had asked me what my favorite season was, hands down I would tell them FALL.  Fall is by far the best season for me on the account that the most change happens.  Leaves change color, the air gets cooler and my favorite apple picking.  Fall gives us so much in the short 3 months of the year, from apple picking, Halloween and Thanksgiving and most of all the fall food.  Nothing beats apple pie, pumpkin pie or anything fall related in its goodness.  Fall is also my favorite due to the fact that I get to spend some of the weekends apple picking with my new wife.

Being almost married 2 months, I still have that excitement coming home to my wife and talking about our days regardless of how tired we both are.  Fall is not only the season of change and colors it is also the season to fall in FALL LOVE with your girlfriend, wife or anyone you want. So if you can, make sure you all get out and pick some apples and pumpkins before we get into the cold season of WINTER.

Wedding Ties

Fall technically started September 22 according to our calendars but my fall officially began this past weekend. Saturday was a perfect, crisp autumn day for a wedding. Ariana and Derek tied the knot in front of their closest friends and family. Ariana looked absolutely stunning in her gown which had her style written all over it.   While Derek was ready to say “I do” to the love of his life and the mother of their beautiful son Ryder. Their wedding was a hoot to shoot and I wish them nothing but the best in their future adventures together.

Introducing the Bengtson’s

Normally when I blog my weddings I like to give a few previews of the wedding for the couple and family to see.  I thought I splurge and showcase more than usual because I had so much fun behind the camera.

By definition a wedding is the act of two people joining together for life. This past Saturday I got to witness something more than the standard in weddings. Erik and Leeanne are one of those rare couples that you only get to meet if your lucky and by chance I got to. Not only was Leeanne a stunning bride but her whole family was so nice and welcoming.  The reception is where the fun really got started as Leeanne finally had the chance to hit the dance floor. Erik and Leeanne not only danced the entire time but it was clear how in love these two were. I not only got the chance to capture all this on camera but also gained some new friends in the process.

Congratulations Erik and Leeanne

Love and Shower….

Bridal Showers are a sight to see in the perspective eyes of a guy. I had the chance to photograph my best friends fiance’s bridal shower held in Fairfield,CT.  I must say that I have never seen so many women gathered in one place to celebrate the forthcoming of a B.I.P. (Bride in Progress). There was laughter, excitement and love in the room filled by the closest friends of the future Mrs. Matis. Luckily I was able to steer clear of the ladies fun and capture some very fun candids of her day of joy.

Congratulations Kate & John on your upcoming wedding, I am happy for you both and looking forward to sharing your special day with you on the other side of the lens.

A Very Jefferson Wedding

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing Elijah and Rosie Jefferson during one of their most romantic evenings ever. They picked a beautiful setting to hold their nuptials at the Wavenly House in New Canaan, Connecticut. Not only was the setting romantic and classic but so was the Bridal Party. This wedding not only had class reintroduced to weddings but they did it in a grand style. As I sift through the 500 plus photos of their wedding, I thought I’d showcase some photos I have been working on.

Congratulations Elijah and Rosie
